Running The CaptureIT Server As An NT/2000/2003 Service

The CaptureIT Server is the program that polls all off-line terminals, processes requests from on-line terminals and remote clients and updates the CaptureIT database as employee clockings are received.

The CaptureIT Server can run as a native NT service when run on Windows NT/2000 or 2003 computers (workstation or server). The CaptureIT Server can service all terminals and remote users and process all employee clockings in the background, without the need for a user to be logged on the computer.

The Service is totally self-maintaining, so you can install it and forget it!

If you do not have Windows NT/2000 or 2003 then the CaptureIT Server runs as a task just like any other program (you can hide it on the system tray).

Note: The ability to run the CaptureIT Server as a service is only available with the Client-Server version of CaptureIT
