CaptureIT
- Dealing With Multiple Sites
For
companies with multiple sites, CaptureIT provides a number of solutions. If
you have a Wide-Area-Network (this means your sites are permanently
connected into one single computer network), you can use the CaptureIT
Client-Server Edition to link your sites into one database. If you do not
have a WAN there are other solutions, such as:
Modem Terminals
The OMNI Terminal is available with a modem. At the remote site the terminal
is connected to the modem, which in-turn is connected to a phone line. At
the head office, the CaptureIT Server is configured to dial the remote
terminal at pre-defined intervals to retrieve the clockings. Any number of
remote terminals can be connected to the CaptureIT Server.
The Remote Site Server
This solution is designed for companies that need local Administration at
each site but do not have a Wide-Area-Network (WAN).
How Does It Work?
CaptureIT runs at each remote site with local
Administration. The Remote Site Server also runs at the remote site. At a pre-defined time
the Remote Site Server collects new clocking data and compresses it into a ZIP compatible
package file. It then automatically E-Mails the package to the head office (if you do not
have E-Mail facilities you can transfer the package files on disk). At the head office the
package files can be synchronized with your main database by simply double-clicking them!
It's as easy as that!
Features of the Remote Site Server
-
Packages can be sent daily or weekly.
-
Automatically collects new data - clockings,
employees, pay records, exceptions etc. Also collects edited information.
-
Packages are compressed into ZIP compatible files to
reduce transfer time.
-
Automatically sends new data via E-Mail to the head
office.
-
Head office receives E-Mails with the package file as
an attachment. The E-Mail message shows a summary of the data included.
-
Simply double-click the attachment to merge the data
with your main database.
